How to Add Text Overlays to your Video Generations

📝 What are Text Overlays?


You’ve generated your visuals, and now it’s time to make them sell.


đź’ˇ The Text Overlays feature allows you to add captions, product names, price callouts and custom messaging directly onto your videos, without leaving Caimera or jumping between tools.


Whether you're building a social ad, a lookbook reel, or a product showcase, overlays give your content the branded finish it needs to perform.


Getting Started


Step 1: Navigate to the Video tool from the home page.

Step 2: Click on the video you wish to edit in the 'History' section.


Step 2: Select the video you want to edit from the “History” section.



Step 3: Click the Text button located in the left toolbar to open the overlay menu.


Step 3: Click on the “Text” button in the left toolbar.



Style Your Text: Font, Color & Alignment


Match your overlays to your brand aesthetic using the customization panel on the left sidebar.


  • Choose a Style: Select a text style from the overlay options displayed in the left panel.
  • Enter Your Text: Type or paste your desired text into the box.
  • Refine the Look: Adjust font family, size and weight, letter spacing and alignment, and text color and styling in the Edit Text section.

How to Arrange Position and Time of Text Overlays


Once your text is styled, you can control exactly where it sits on the screen and how long it stays there.


  • How to Move Text: Click on the text box directly on the video preview and drag it to your preferred position.


Step 1: Drag the text box on the video clip to reposition it.



  • How to Adjust Duration: In the video timeline at the bottom, click on the text overlay clip. Drag the edges outward to increase the time the text is visible, or inward to shorten it.


Step 1: Adjust the overlay duration by resizing it on the timeline.


How to Remove or Duplicate Your Overlays


You can easily manage multiple text layers using the intuitive tools found in the Video Editor.


  • How to Duplicate Text: In the timeline section, select the text clip. Right-click on the clip to open the options menu and choose "Duplicate" to create a copy with the same styling.


Step 1: Right-click on the text clip and select “Duplicate.”



  • How to Remove Text: If an overlay no longer fits your vision, Right-click on the clip to open the options menu and choose "Delete."


Step 1: Right-click on the text clip and select “Delete.”



Preview and Download


Before exporting, use the scrubber (the red line) on the clips bar to preview your text timing against the video.


Once everything looks right, click 'Download' in the top-right corner to save your final video.


Step 4: Click “Download” to save your final video.
