Ways to Upload Your Product Image to Caimera’s Editorial Tool
There are several ways to add products to Caimera, and this article walks you through each method step by step.
Learn how to add and upload product images in the Editorial Tool, from your local library and a URL to Google Drive, pasting an image, and more. For a complete step-by-step guide on adding products to the app, you can view the tutorial here.
There is no single "right" way to get a product into Editorial Images. Depending on where your images live, you have seven routes. All of them are free — adding a product costs no credits.
Building your Product Library is completely free — add as many products as you like at no additional cost.
1. Upload from your computer
The default route. Open the product picker, choose Add a new product, and use the Upload tab to browse or drag in your images.
- Supported formats: PNG, JPG, WEBP, HEIC/HEIF and AVIF (AVIF and HEIC are converted automatically).
- Maximum image size: 1536px — larger images help Caimera reproduce prints, details and logos more accurately.
- Supported Product Categories on the Editorial Images Tool
- Input image guidelines for the Editorial Images Tool
Step 1: Select your input images, click Upload (or drag and drop) to add up to 6 images of the product.

Step 2: Let the AI fill in the details. Caimera detects the product category from your images and generates a product name to match. Both fields are editable — correct anything that looks off.

Step 3 (optional): Fill in the Fit / Size field — for example "Slim fit" or "6 inches". This detail is carried into your generations so the model wears the product with the right fit and proportions. You can add or edit it any time.

2. Add from a product URL
Step 1: In the Add a new product modal, the Add from URL tab sits right next to Upload.

Step 2: Paste a product page link and Caimera scrapes the images — no downloading and re-uploading, and no leaving the modal.

3. Paste from your clipboard
Any image dropzone accepts a paste. Copy an image and press ⌘V / Ctrl+V — useful for screenshots and images copied from the web, which no longer need a round trip through your desktop.

4. Pick from your Library
Products, generations and references you've already added are one click away via Library on any upload surface. The Library has dedicated tabs for Products, Generations, References and Brands.

5. Upload from your phone
Photos on your phone can go straight into Caimera on your computer — no emailing or AirDropping them first.
Step 1: On any upload area, click Phone (or choose Upload from Phone in the upload menu).
Step 2: Scan the QR code with your phone camera and open the link. No sign-in is needed on the phone — the QR code is linked to your account.
Step 3: Tap Choose or take photos on your phone. Each photo appears on your computer as soon as it finishes uploading, and location data is stripped before it leaves your phone.
Step 4: Click Add on your computer to use them.
6. Import from a connected source
The More dropdown on any image dropzone imports from your connected tools:
- Google Drive — live. Pick images straight from your Drive; Caimera only ever accesses the files you select.

- Dropbox — live for every workspace. Pick one or more images with Dropbox's own file picker; no account linking is needed, Dropbox asks you to sign in the first time you use it.
- Bynder — a dedicated tab in your Library. Learn more about Bynder Integration & Setup
7. Upload a whole folder (bulk)
The fastest route when you're setting up many products at once.
Step 1: Go to the Products tab here and open the Add Product dropdown.

Step 2: Choose to upload a folder. Organise it as one subfolder per product.

Step 3: Each subfolder becomes a product named after it, with its category detected automatically.

Step 4: Review before anything is created. A review screen lists every product's name, category, brand and images — all editable. Fix what's wrong, then create them all at once.
