What is the Print Designer Tool?
Use the Print Designer Tool in Caimera to create seamless fabric patterns and textile prints from text prompts, then upscale and download production‑ready files. This guide is for designers, merchandisers, and fabric teams working on early‑stage print concepts.
Print Designer is built specifically for early‑stage design, fabric concept development, and textile print design. Unlike traditional workflows that require you to upload an existing garment or product photo first, this tool allows you to generate seamless patterns, fabric prints, and embroidery styles directly from a text description.
Once generated, every design is fully interactive allowing you to edit, adjust tile scale, upscale, and download production-ready files. Print Designer has four modes, switched with the tool tabs: Create Print (this article), Extract Print, Make Repeat and Apply Print.
Workspace Layout:
The workspace has two main panels:
- Left Panel (Creation Hub): Contains the prompt box, configuration dropdowns, and the "+" button for reference images.

When to use it: Use structured categories (Straight, Half‑drop, Brick) for classic repeats, and Tossed/Random for conversational or playful layouts.

- Without a filter: The AI uses only your text prompt.
- With a filter: The AI blends your prompt with the brand's signature colors and style.

6. Color Palette Limit Slider:
The Color Palette Limit slider lets you cap how many colors a pattern uses. You can set the palette anywhere from 1 to 24 colors to keep designs production-friendly and separation-ready for screen printing.
Slide all the way right for No Limit to allow full-color artwork with no cap. The background counts as one of the colors, so the number you choose is the total palette size.

7. Model Configuration

To visualize how your creation performs as a continuous textile, use the pattern scaling tool. This feature generates a live preview showing how the image tiles seamlessly across a larger surface area, helping you evaluate the scale and repeat layout before production.

Upscale and Download
When your design is complete:
- Click the Upscale button in the left panel (Crystal goes up to 14K).
