# Resize & Pad Images: Resize mode

With the **Resize** mode of Caimera’s **Resize & Pad** tool, you can control object alignment and choose where your subject sits in the images. For adding borders without changing size, see [Resize & Pad Images: Pad mode](https://help.caimera.ai/en/article/image-padding-on-caimera-z90lwq/).

Each processed image costs 1 credit.

* Adding branded borders or spacing to social media content
* Standardizing image dimensions for e-commerce platforms
* Preparing images for specific aspect ratio requirements

**Step 1:** Open **Resize & Pad** (under Design → Editor) and switch to **Resize** mode.

**Step 2:** Upload all your input images.

**Step 3:** Define the padding in pixels or percentage, for each side—top, bottom, left, and right. Want to skip padding on one side? Just enter ‘zero’.

**Step 4:** Choose horizontal and vertical alignment from the dropdown menus to position your subject—centered, top-left, bottom-right, or anywhere in between.

**Step 5:** Customize the background color using HEX codes, RGB, or HSL values

**Step 6:** You can also use the eye dropper tool to pick a color from the input images.

**Step 7:** If you want to resize the image, add the size in pixels in the height and width.

**Step 8:** Once you've added all your images, reviewed all the padding on the four sides, and picked a background color, click **Generate**.

**Step 9:** Your updated images will appear in the History section.

**Step 10:** Download these images by clicking on the **Download** button.
