# How to Resize and Expand an image in Editorial Images Tool

Image expansion on Caimera uses AI to extend the borders of an image adding new visual content that blends naturally with the original. This powerful feature lets you resize your image and intelligently expand images using AI outpainting.

This article will guide you through the process of resizing an image. 

# 🛠️ Step-by-Step: How to Resize and Expand an Image in Editorial Images Tool

**Step 1:** Generate Your Base Image

**Step 2:** Navigate and Click on the **Resize Tool** from the top left toolbar.

**Step 3:** Click Resize Tool to activate transform controls around your image.

**Step 4:** There are two options that you can choose from you can use the custom size option or choose a preset aspect ratio from the options at the bottom for quick resizing.

**Step 5:** Enter a custom width and height in the fields next to the presets if you need specific dimensions or just choose from one of the presets.

**Step 6:** Select the **Reset** button to instantly go back to your image’s original dimensions.

**Step 7:** Use **Back to Editor** to exit without applying changes, or hit **Apply** to confirm your canvas adjustments.

**Step 8:** You can expand your canvas using Width and height and move you image using the cursor to fit the scene.

**Step 9:** Once you're satisfied with the image, click on the **upscale** button to make your image higher resolution and add more detail.
