# How to Add Products in the Editorial Tool: A Step-by-Step Guide

###### What is the Editorial tool?

Editorial is Caimera’s image generation tool for creating on-brand editorial, catalog, lifestyle, and product still images. It works across product categories including apparel, footwear, bags, lingerie, homeware, wellness, and more.


###### Adding products to Editorial

There are multiple ways to add a product to the Editorial tool. In this guide, we’ll walk you through each method step by step, from adding products already in your Library to uploading new product images.

###### How to add products to the app in Editorial Tool

**Step 1:** From your home dashboard, click **Editorial Images** under the Marketing column. This opens the template gallery where all editorial generation starts.

**Step 2:** Browse the templates using the category tags, or search for a mood or scene. Hover over any template image and click **Generate Image** (or **Generate Video**) to use it — you'll see a **Recreate this image with your product** prompt appear as you hover.

**Step 3:** The **Select Products** window opens. Use the search bar to find something already in your catalog, or scroll through your saved products by category.

**Step 4:** Don't see the product you need? Click **+ New Product** in the top-right corner to upload it on the spot — no need to leave the flow.

**Step 5:** In the **Create a new product** window, click **Upload** (or drag and drop) to add up to 6 images of the product. You can also paste an image, or import one from your library or a URL.

* **Supported formats:** PNG, JPG, WEBP, HEIC/HEIF and AVIF (AVIF and HEIC are converted automatically).
* **Maximum image size:** 1536px — larger images help Caimera reproduce prints, details and logos more accurately.

**Step 6:** Once your product category is selected, you can edit the **Product name or SKU** if needed.

Below the product category, you’ll find the **Fit Description** section, where you can add specific fit details about your product. This works across all product categories.

You can also add a **Brand** if your product belongs to a specific brand and you want Caimera to follow that brand’s aesthetic.

**Step 7:** Click **Add Product** to save it to your catalog. Once added, you can select it from the **Select Products** window to start generating images.

That’s it! Your product is now added to the app and ready to be used and referenced across Caimera’s tools.

###### Alternative ways to add products

The steps above cover the main flow, but there are a few other places in the Editorial tool where you can add a product:

**1. Add a new product to the app using 'Generate Campaign Ideas with Agent' chat:** 

Click **Generate Campaign Ideas with Agent** on the Editorial landing page. In the chat window, click **Select a product** to choose an existing item from your catalog, or **Add a Product** to upload a new one.

**2. Add a new product to the app using 'Direct your scene with a moodboard of references' feature:** 

Click **Direct your scene with a moodboard of references**, pin your reference images to the board, then click **Continue to product selection** to choose the products that will appear in the shot.

**3. How to add a product to the app once you've already created an image:** 

Once you’ve created an image, open it on the **Editorial Tool** and click the small **product card icon** next to the **Edit Image** prompt box.

This opens the product selection window, where you can swap out the current product or click **New Product** to add another one.

With multiple ways to add and manage products, you can easily bring any product into your Editorial workflow whenever you need it. Once added, your products are saved and ready to be reused across your future generations in Caimera.



###### FAQs

1. **Do I need to create a product every time I want to generate an image?** 
No. Once a product is uploaded, it's saved to your catalog permanently. You only need to go through the upload flow the first time — after that, just search for it in **Select Products**.

2. **How many products can I use in a single generation?** 
You can use up to 3 product images styled together, per generation.

3. **What image requirements does a new product upload need to meet?** 
Files must be PNG, JPG, or WEBP, at least 768px, with 1536px recommended for the sharpest results. You can upload up to 6 images per product.

4. **Do I have to fill in the product category and name myself?** 
Caimera auto-fills both fields based on your uploaded images, but you can edit them before saving. Brand details and fit/size notes are optional.

5. **Is choosing a model required?** 
No, choosing a model is optional. If you skip it, Caimera will generate a model that fits the template automatically.

6. **Can I still edit the image after it's generated?** 
Yes. Open any result from the **History** panel to create new variations, edit the image with a text prompt, or adjust the model and background separately.
