# Create from Scratch: Generate Patterns, Sketches, and Graphics from Text

Create from Scratch lets you generate images, patterns, and sketches directly from a text prompt without uploading a product photo first. You choose an AI model, aspect ratio, enhancement style, and optional brand filter, then click Generate. Images are editable and upscalable after creation.


**What is Create from Scratch?**

Create from Scratch is a text-to-image tool in Caimera designed for early-stage brainstorming. Unlike tools that require an existing product image, this feature generates visuals directly from your description. Use it to create:

* Fabric patterns and textile prints
* Fashion sketches and technical illustrations
* Marketing graphics and icons
* Placement prints — graphic tees, back-panel artwork, pocket prints, logo-style emblems
* Concept mockups before physical samples exist

You can find it on the Caimera homepage next to Upload and Edit, and in the Editor's tool switcher.

**Workspace Layout:**

The interface has two panels:

* Left Panel (Creation Hub): Contains the prompt box, configuration dropdowns, and the "+" button for reference images.
* Right Panel (History): Shows your generated images. You can filter between saved and unsaved visuals.

**Generation Settings**

Before you generate, configure these four options:

**1. Image Generation Model**
Choose the AI model that powers your image:

| **Model** | **Credits per Image** | **Best For** |
| Gemini 3.1 Flash | 1 credit for 1K, 2 credits for 2K, and 3 credits for 4K. | Fast, general-purpose generation and quick iteration |
| Gemini 3 Pro | 2 credits for 1K/2K and 4 credits for 4K. | Higher quality and detail |
| GPT Image 2 | 3 credits for 1K, 5 credits for 2K and 6 credits for 4K. | Best prompt adherence, text and fine detail |

**2. Aspect Ratio**
Defaults to 1:1 (square). Other options include 16:9, 4:5, and additional formats. Select the ratio that matches your project's output requirements.

**3. Prompt Enhancement Style**
This setting tells the AI what kind of creative output you want:

| **Style** | **When to Use** |
| **Off** | General or surreal imagery; AI follows your prompt literally without style adjustments. |
| **Photo** | Photorealistic images, lifestyle textures, or when using a photo reference. |
| **Sketch** | Line art, technical fashion illustrations, hand-drawn concepts. |
| **Graphic** | Digital illustrations, branding assets, icons, logos, and placement prints. Required if you want to export the result as an editable SVG. |
| **Model** | Human portraits and model shots with optimized facial details. |

**4. Brand Filter**
Apply a brand profile to match a specific aesthetic:
* **Without a filter:** The AI uses only your text prompt.
* **With a filter:** The AI blends your prompt with the brand's signature colors and style.

**How to Generate an Image:**
1. From the Caimera homepage, click **Create from Scratch**.

2. In the left panel, type your text prompt into the prompt box. Use **Enhance prompt** if you want Caimera to expand a short idea into a fuller description. You can review and tweak the enhanced wording before generating — what you see is what gets used.

3. Select your **Model**, **Aspect Ratio**, **Enhancement Style**, and optional **Brand Filter**.

4. (Optional) Click the **"+"** button to upload a reference image. Once an image is uploaded, click the circular **edit** icon on it to crop, zoom (up to 3x) and rotate it before generating.

5. Click **Generate**.

6. Your image appears in the right panel History and auto-saves.

### Example 1: **Create Graphics** 
* **Style:** Graphic
* **Prompt:** "A whimsical watercolor illustration of a goose wearing a chef's hat"
* **Tip:** An H&M filter produces a cute aesthetic; a Zara filter shifts it to muted, mature tones.

* **Style:** Sketch
* **Prompt:** "A hand-drawn pair of running shoes in a minimalist fashion illustration style"
* **Result:** Clean line-art output for early product concepting.

### Edit Your Generated Image

After generation, you can refine your image without starting over.

**Text-Based Editing**
Describe the change you want in plain text. For example: "Change the background to navy blue."

**Draw & Edit Tool**
Click the **pencil (scribble) icon** to circle or draw on the area you want to change. Then either upload a reference image or type a description (e.g., "add a bow lace to the shoe") and click **Edit**.

**Layers Panel**
Every edit creates a new layer. You can toggle between variations or revert to the original base image at any time.

**Upscale and Download**

Images can be generated at 1K, 2K or 4K. When your design is complete:
1. Click the **Upscale** button in the left panel.
2. Select your upscaling preference (Crystal goes up to 14K).
3. Click **Download** to save the high-resolution image.

**Vector and print-production exports**

Designs made in Create from Scratch can be downloaded as true vector files, not just raster images:

* **SVG** — select your generation and choose SVG in the download menu. Line sketches export as clean editable strokes; coloured artwork is colour-separated into filled vector shapes, one selectable layer per colour, ready to recolour in Illustrator.
* **Placement prints** export as SVGs whose connected shapes can be selected independently, preserving the original canvas size and background. Use the **Graphic** prompt type for these; Sketch outputs use the dedicated sketch SVG export instead, and other prompt types offer raster downloads.
* **TIFF** — lossless 300 DPI, for print production, alongside PNG and JPEG.

Vector export works when saving to your device, Google Drive, and Bynder.

The **Create from Scratch** tool puts fast, effortless, and highly customizable design creation at your fingertips. By removing the friction of complex prompt engineering and eliminating the need for pre-existing product assets, it allows you to build textiles, graphics, and illustrations with the right model, enhancement, and brand identity in just a few clicks.


### Frequently Asked Questions:


1. **How many credits does Create from Scratch use?**
Between 1 and 6 credits per image depending on the model and resolution you select (see the table above). The exact cost is displayed on the Generate button before you click it.

2. **Do I need to upload a product image to use this tool?**
No. Create from Scratch works from text prompts only. You may optionally upload a reference image to guide style or composition.

3. **Can I use Create from Scratch for human models?**
Yes. Select the **Model** enhancement style to optimize facial details and portrait quality.

4. **What is the difference between Create from Scratch and Editorial Image (Fluid)?**
Create from Scratch generates from text only and does not require a product photo. Editorial Image (Fluid) requires an uploaded product image to generate editorial-style marketing visuals.

5. **Can I apply multiple brand filters to the same prompt?**
You must generate one image at a time with one filter. To compare brand aesthetics, generate the same prompt multiple times with different filters selected.

6. **What resolution are the final downloads?**
Generate at 1K, 2K or 4K. After upscaling, you receive a higher-resolution file (up to 14K) suitable for production use.

7. **Can I export my design as a vector file?**
Yes. Choose **SVG** in the download menu for editable vector output, or **TIFF** for lossless 300 DPI print production. For placement prints with independently selectable shapes, generate using the **Graphic** prompt type.

8. **Can I crop or rotate a reference image before generating?**
Yes. Click the circular edit icon on any uploaded image to crop, zoom up to 3x, and rotate it. Saving applies the change to your workspace while keeping the original source data intact.
